I started Black Girl, Latin World because I did not see many spaces that discussed Afro-Latino and African American connections, African American Spanish speakers and Afro-Latino arts.
Mission
- Empowering African diasporic women through the arts & writing
- Igniting discussions on connections between Afrolatinos and African Americans
- Creating spaces for Black language learners and African diasporic language discussion
As BGLW has grown over the years, I am grateful for every follower, guest and person that I’ve connected with. Thank you for reading!
Wow, this is amazing. I’m Vanity Duran, a recent broadcast journalism graduate from Florida A&M University. I’m of Dominican decent, however I’ve been woken up by my true background. I’m trying to diversify the population at FAMU by helping to enroll more students that identify as Latino/a. I would love to connect and speak with you personally more on the connection of Afro-Latinos in America, and eventually the whole world. I’d also love to help you in anyway possible with your mission. I look forward to speaking with you.
Hello . I am Dominican American who considers himself Afro Spaniard.I think this is wonderful that you started this there is not alot of stuff online about African American and Afro Latino relations .
Thank you so much Erwin!
Thank you so much!
Yes I have always dated Black women my girlfriend now is Black. When i havw looked on the internet for Latino men who are attracted Black women I dont find anything like we dont exist . You will always see Latino women who like Black men but but not Latino men and Black women and i have never understood this . I live in the Bronx N.Y where black Dominican and puerto Rican live all together and you see Black women with Dominican or Puerto Rican men all the time its common as a matter of fact.
It’s a shame that you don’t find much online about it, but Black women who love Latino men exist.
